Accommodation

ICAE ensures all students have suitable accommodation when they arrive and during their study by offering free shared accommodation for students during Orientation Week. During the orientation week we assist students in finding suitable long-term accommodation.

The actual cost of your accommodation will depend on the number of bedrooms, whether you are sharing or not, the proximity to Darwin city and how old the accommodation is. You should also consider other living expenses such as gas, power, water, food, entertainment and transport.

Long-Term Accommodation

Shared Housing

Most students stay in shared housing so they can share living costs such as rent, utilities and sometimes groceries. Sometimes students will have a private room in a shared house (single) and sometimes students prefer to save more money by sharing rooms (twin-share).

Where to Look for Shared Housing

  • NT News printed paper (available at any supermarket or convenience store).
  • Ask ICAE’s student liaison officer.
  • Talk to your fellow students.
  • Easyroommate.com
  • Gumtree.com.au

Private Accommodation

This would suit a student who is bringing their family or wants a private residence.  Private accommodation can be apartments, units, townhouses, flats, houses and duplexes. Privacy does come at an extra cost as you will need to pay rent and utilities for the entire residence.
