Domestic Student Scholarships – January 2012

ICAE is offering full tuition scholarships for the January intake of our Advanced Diploma of Hospitality course. These scholarships are specifically for Australian citizens or residents and are not available to international students. Please read the scholarship conditions below for more information on eligibility and selection.

All you need to apply is an Australian residential address, a copy of your Passport or Australian Driver’s Licence and your resume. Scholarship Terms and Conditions

1.       SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

1.1.     Scholarships awarded will be full tuition scholarships and will cover the entire cost of tuition for ICAE’s two year Advanced Diploma of Hospitality program.

1.2.    Each scholarship is valued at a maximum of A$24,000 which is the equivalent value of two years of tuition fees for ICAE’s Advanced Diploma of Hospitality program. If a student fails one or more subjects they may be required to pay additional fees to complete the program.

1.3.    The scholarship recipient will be required to pay for their own living costs and any other costs not covered by the Tuition Fees. Items covered by the Tuition Fees are listed here: http://icae.edu.au/international/fees/inclusions

1.4.    The scholarships are not transferrable for cash, other services or any other monetary instrument.

1.5.    The applicant must apply directly to ICAE and may not apply using the services of an agent.

1.6.    All scholarships are awarded at ICAE’s discretion. ICAE may choose to award no scholarships should it be deemed there are no suitable applicants or additional scholarships if there are a surplus of suitable applicants.

1.7.    ICAE’s decisions regarding scholarships are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

2.       ELIGIBILITY

2.1.    The applicant must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia. This may include refugees or New Zealand citizens living in Australia. Applicants who do not meet these residency requirements will be rejected without notice.

2.2.    The applicant must be 18 years old or over.

2.3.    The applicant should meet all selection and eligibility criteria and may be asked to attend a face-to-face or phone interview.

3.        APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

3.1.    The applicant must adhere to the same rules, policies, Australian government legislation and procedures as any other applicant.

3.2.    The applicant must be a new applicant and must not have previously applied to ICAE.

3.3.    The student must be able to commence study in January 2012.

4.       SELECTION CRITERIA

4.1.    Desire to Work in Hospitality: The applicant should have some work history in the hospitality industry or be able to show that they are interested in undertaking a hospitality career.

4.2.    Academic Proficiency: The applicant will be assessed on any previous academic study they have completed. The applicant’s GPA, subject grades, overall grades or lecturer comments may be taken into account.

4.3.    Suitability for the Program: ICAE will assess the applicant’s previous work history, education, extracurricular activities and other factors to determine the suitability of the applicant for this program.

5.       APPLICATION PROCEDURE

5.1.     The applicant should apply online using ICAE’s Online Scholarship Application Form, available here: http://icae.edu.au/scholarships/apply-for-a-scholarship. To complete this form the applicant will need a copy of their government identification (Passport or Australian Driver’s Licence) and a copy of their resume.

5.2.    ICAE will assess the application and contact suitable applicants for an interview.

5.3.    If the applicant is awarded a scholarship they will need to read and sign a Student Acceptance Agreement prior to finalising the enrolment.
