It was fantastic to attend the retirement event at Parliament House in Darwin tonight for Honorary Consul General for the Republic of the Philippines, my good friend Januario John Rivas.
Tonight’s event recognized John’s 17 years of superb volunteering service to the community.
Outstanding achievement and tonight, recognized John and his wonderful wife, Edna.
Commitment to developing and maintaining linkages between Australia and the Philippines in the areas of Education, Trade, Business and Culture to name a few, has been a hallmark of John’s work.
I want to express my thanks to John for being a great professional colleague and an awesome person.
