The Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector and for a diversity of employers including restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. The Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification allows for multi-skilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming.

This Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior managers who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with specialised managerial skills and substantial knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. These senior managers operate with significant autonomy and are responsible for making strategic business management decisions.

How you study

Students undertaking this Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management course receive tuition at ICAE’s Rapid Creek campus and participate in practical assessments at their workplace. This ensures that students actually demonstrate their workplace competence in a real working environment – the ultimate confirmation of work readiness. Workplace Supervisors can ensure that students are ready to demonstrate their skills, and students can prepare and perform in their own workplace in an environment they are familiar with.

Course structure

All students enrolled in the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification must undertake all the Core Units, plus 17 electives as guided by ICAE. Domestic students undertaking funded programs will have electives guided by their current and/or anticipated job role. International students undertake elective units as prescribed by ICAE, indicated in the unit list with * (see Unit List).
