Biography

Ahad Hussain Mishu (known as Sunday), an international student from Bangladesh, has completed an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality and a certificate IV in Hospitality with ICAE.
He won the “2018 NT Export and Industry Awards – Study NT Special Commendation in the International Student of the Year Award Category”.

Sunday shared his experiences studying with ICAE and living in Darwin as an international student.
“When I searched for schools in Australia and Darwin, ICAE popped out and suddenly caught my eyes. It is one of the most established schools for international students in the NT.”
“Darwin is a very multicultural and welcoming city, providing many opportunities for international students, especially those studying Hospitality. Actually, we are amongst the highest paid hospitality workers in the world.”

Living in Darwin for a few years, Sunday is much enjoying to be a ‘Territorian’. “Unlike big cities, Darwin is more like a community. People are very friendly here, even strangers say hello to me on the street,” Sunday said, “I was shocked at first, but now I am used to it – this is Darwin.”
Having been working in the industry for over five years, Sunday is currently working in Phat Mango as a Cocktail Alchemist. He was nominated as HospitalityNT Bartender of the Year Award 2018.

“The course I did at ICAE really benefited my employment,” Sunday said, “I have learnt many practical skills about workplace safety, conflict management, diversity, communication skills, etc, which are of significant importance for the hospitality workers.”

Sunday has very clear goals for the future. “I want to complete my Bachelors in International Hotel Management and hopefully secure a position in a renowned International 5-Star Hotel Chain as Food and Beverage Director and slowly gain the experience to become a successful general manager.”

“I definitely recommend ICAE to international students. We are not a big school, so everyone knows each other. It is like a family to me now. The school allows students the opportunity to learn, work and earn at the same time which is ideal for any international student.”
