ICAE is a multi-award winning Registered Training Organisation based in Darwin, the capital city of Australia’s Northern Territory. ICAE was founded in 1997, and delivers vocational programs in Australia and Asia to Australian and international students. ICAE provides education and training opportunities that enhance our students’ careers. In workforces around the world there is no substitute for real world experience, supported by a thorough grasp of the best ideas and proven practices. As an ICAE student you will develop real world practical skills, underpinned by the most current industry theory, delivered by our faculty of industry experts. ICAE graduates achieve outstanding career outcomes both here in Australia and abroad.

The ICAE campus is located at Rapid Creek, just 15 minutes from Darwin’s city centre. The campus includes classrooms, fully equipped practical hospitality service areas with a bar, espresso machines, a fully equipped commercial kitchen, an industry-standard commercial bakery, indoor and outdoor student facilities including a football pitch, and free wireless broadband available throughout the facility. 

ICAE has ample parking, bus stops nearby, walking and bicycle paths lead from the city and suburbs along the foreshore right to us, so getting to and from the campus is easy. Set amongst three hectares of cool leafy grounds and less than a kilometre from the beach, our campus is a delightful, peaceful place to study.

Training We Deliver

ICAE delivers vocational training to over 200 students from a wide range of demographics, in a wide range of disciplines including hospitality, business and commercial cookery. Students studying with ICAE range from backpackers to refugees, high school students to industry professionals and almost anyone in-between.

ICAE also has an international Hospitality and Commercial Cookery program especially for international students which focuses on study and work with 2 semesters of full-time industry placement.

ICAE’s objectives are tightly focused on delivering programmes that provide employment outcomes through innovative training and professional capacity building, with a focus on employment outcomes, ICAE has secured many government contracts centered around upskilling the local workforce, thus building a strong reputation with local government.

Programs We Have Delivered

  • Northern Territory Department of Education and Training (DET) funded User Choice and fee-for-service apprenticeship and traineeship training.
  • Fee for service CRICOS registered training for international Hospitality amd Commercial Cookery students.
  • Fee for service skills recognition/assessment only pathways.
  • Australian Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) funded Productivity Places Program recognition of prior learning based assessment for experienced hospitality managers.
  • Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) funded Settlements Grants Program (SGP) pre-employment training for newly arrived humanitarian refugees.
  • DEEWR funded Australian Apprenticeship Access Program (AAAP) for disadvantaged jobseekers.
  • AusAID funded Commercial Cookery training for Timor Leste residents in Dili, Timor Leste.
  • NT DET and Employment Services Australia funded Flexible Response Funding for construction training in remote communities (Elcho Island, Bachelor, Palumpa).
